Wilson X31 laminated driver, 1963, 'the inner secret'

Golfengineering ID: ucwd1325
Vintage: 1963
Gender-Dexterity: men's right handed
Lifecycle: used
Shaft type: steel

Top of the Wilson wood line in 1963, the introductory year for the X31 woods. Wilson moved the shaft closer to the head center which decreased torque response on mishits while concurrently providing a larger face hitting area. You can see the outline in the face image. Good finish with some poly dings mostly on edges. Beautiful face, whipping cover and ferrule with all rings. Very good Wilson Staff Pro stiff steel shaft with perfect band. Fine Wilson bell grip - leather wrap with collar and music note cap in place. 43", D6, 4 degree open face with measured loft of 11 degrees so effectively about 7 degrees - if you don't pack a wallop, this will be hard to get airborne.
