As the 1977 MacGregor catalog states "These are the clubs that Jack built. These are the clubs that Jack plays. These are the clubs." Very good set of vintage late 1970's serial number matched Nicklaus VIPs. These were the ones Nicklaus used for several years beginning with the 1976 prototypes; after his win at the TPC later that year he kept using them for several years. He was personally involved with the design along with David Graham. Soft-steel stainless heads with only minor dings; Perfect ferrules. Excellent MacGregor Micro step # 2 (Medium) steel shafts showing good chrome sparkle and no bag burn flaws; these were well taken care of clubs. Original MacGregor rubber grips very good and still soft. 5i length 37" men's standard.
