Early Bullseye Reuter putter STD M 6 S, ~ 1959

Golfengineering ID: ucput5981
Vintage: 1959
Gender-Dexterity: men's right handed
Lifecycle: used
Shaft type: Steel

Early model from 1958/9 just after Acushnet bought the rights to the John Reuter name and design. For a short time the large target models had had Pat Pending replaced with a registration mark under the target (see images). Soonafter, 'made in USA' was added. This is one of those short time models and relatively hard to find. What makes it most interesting is the nearly perfect fluted unstepped steel shaft that shows no tarnish - almost all of these turn black over time - this one is about flawless with its original satin hue. Also remarkable is the excellent flat top leather wrap grip with cap and collar in place. Except for some edgewear near the cap, its like a vintage Bordeaux. If you know Bullseyes, you know this is special. STD M 6 S.
