Good condition for this vintage early 1930's AG Spalding & Bros. forged wedge. Unusual deep cupped
scoring on face. Early thinking on irons was that grooves in faces produced backspin so many types of
elaborate grooving were produced. Smooth sole with no markings. Loft measured at 58 degree with
significant bounce. Slight gap between long hosel and cool ferrule with mother-of-pearl-like rings.
Very nice green sheathing with black stripes with no chips. Remnant of shaft band with couple dates
regarding patent. Probable replaced 15" rubber wrap grip with collar and cap in place. 33 1/2" length.
This club is sturdy enough to play yet very collectable as one of the earliest 'wedges' applicable to sand.
